Transfer from Istanbul Airport (IST)
Istanbul Airport was inaugurated in 2019 and operates flights to over 300 destinations worldwide. The airport is located 40 km from the city center of Istanbul. The duty-free area includes over 300 shops and all facilities. It even has NAP Zones where you can relax on loungers. If you are flying with Turkish Airlines, this is where you will land.
Transfer with Havaist buses
This is the easiest way to reach the center of Istanbul. From the Arrivals area, in the basement, you will find different platforms from which Havaist buses depart to 11 destinations in the city. There is also a Havaist app available for download to help you navigate more easily. Ticket prices start at 3.5 euros, and the journey takes at least one hour. Just find out which area your hotel is located in and which Havaist bus stop is closest to it.

Transfer by Metro
Recently, Istanbul Airport is connected to the city via the metro. The line is M11, which connects the airport to Kagıthane station, covering a distance of 34 km. The journey takes about 22 minutes, and the stations are as follows: Istanbul Airport – Ihsaniye-Gokturk-Kemerburgaz-Universite Hasdal-Kagıthane. A ticket costs 11.29 TL and allows you to transfer to other modes of transportation. Trains depart every 20 minutes during the following time intervals:
- Istanbul Airport to Kagıthane: 6:00 AM to midnight.
- Kagıthane to Istanbul Airport: 6:00 AM to 12:40 AM. From Kagithane, there are 10 km to the city center, and you have connections to other metro lines, trams, buses, or taxis.
Transfer by Taxi and Shared Shuttle
A taxi transfer costs around 40 euros.
With only 8 euros, you can transfer to your hotel in Istanbul using a shared shuttle. The group size is a maximum of 12 people. Details and reservations are available here.

Transfer between Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gokcen Airport
Havaist buses provide transfers between the two airports for 143 TL.

Transfer from Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW)
Sabiha Gokcen Airport is located 45 km from the city center of Istanbul. It serves low-cost airlines such as Pegasus Airlines, Andolujet, etc.
Transfer by Metro
From the airport, you can take the M4 metro line (Marmaray line) to Kadikoy station. The journey takes 50 minutes, and the cost is 20 TL. From there, you can change to other modes of transportation to reach your accommodation.

Transfer with Havabus buses
You have three directions to choose from:
- Taksim Square: The ticket costs 68 TL, and the transfer takes 90 minutes.
- Kadikoy: The ticket costs 51 TL, and the transfer takes 60 minutes.
- Yenisara Metro: The ticket costs 51 TL, and the transfer takes 45 minutes.

Public Transportation in Istanbul

Public transportation in Istanbul is well-developed, and you can use the metro, ferry, tram, and buses to get around quickly. Instead of purchasing individual tickets, you only need an Istanbul Card, which functions as an electronic wallet. You load it with credit, and the fare for each trip is deducted when you validate it upon boarding.
The card can be obtained and topped up at automated machines in the stations using banknotes. The card issuance cost is 50 TL. Although it is not personalized, we recommend having one card per person because it needs to be validated when boarding and disembarking.
The fare for a single trip on the metro, tram, bus, or ferry (on specific routes) is 9.90 TL. For the suburban line, Marmaray, the fare is 16.95 TL. These fares apply regardless of traveling 4 stops or 20 stops. The ticket is no longer valid once you exit the mode of transportation.
