Transfer from Fiumicino Airport

Fiumicino Airport (FCO) or Leonardo da Vinci Airport is located 32 km from the city center.

 

Transfer by Terravision bus

Terravision provides a fast, convenient, and affordable transfer to Roma Termini Station. A one-way ticket costs 6 euros/one-way  and the transfer takes 55 minutes.

From Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini, Terravision buses operate between 8:30 am and 12:30 am. From Roma Termini to Fiumicino Airport, Terravision buses run between 4:30 am and 7:50 pm.

Transfer by train to Roma Termini

The Leonardo Express connects the airport to Roma Termini in 32 minutes. A ticket costs 14 euros for an adult and children aged 4-12 travel for free if they travel with an adult.

The regional train from Fiumicino to Roma Termini is not direct and requires a change at Trastevere or Tiburtina. It costs 8 eur and runs every 15 minutes, except on sundays or late at night when it runs every 30 minutes.

Transfer by taxi

Taxis are available at Arrivals in Terminals 1 and 3. A maximum of 4 people can ride in one car. If you have a lot of luggage, take 2 taxis or a minivan. Fixed rates are established for taxi transfers as follows:

  • Fiumicino Airport to Rome city center: 50 euros.
  • Fiumicino Airport to Ciampino Airport: 52 euros.
  • Fiumicino Airport to Tiburtina Station: 57 euros.
  • Fiumicino Airport to Civitavecchia Port: 125 euros.

Transfer from Ciampino Airport

Ciampino Airport (CIA), also known as G.B. Pastine, is located 16 km from the city and serves low-cost airlines. Transfer by Terravision bus Terravision provides a fast and affordable transfer to Roma Termini Station. A one-way ticket costs 6 euros, and the transfer takes 40 minutes.

From Ciampino Airport to Roma Termini, Terravision buses operate between 8:45 am and 11:40 pm. From Roma Termini to Ciampino Airport, Terravision buses run between 4:40 am and 7:30 pm.

If your flight is delayed, the ticket is valid for the next Terravision transfers. Tickets do not need to be printed; you can show them directly on your phone. You can transport your luggage at no additional cost. Children aged 0-4 travel for free.

 

Transfer by Airlink

Ciampino Airlink is a bus + train service launched by Trenitalia. You will find signs at the airport to guide you to Airlink. It takes 60 minutes to get from the airport to Termini station.

The journey starts with a bus that departs every 20 minutes to the Ciampino train station. Then, you continue by train. Tickets can be purchased from machines in the departure area, the Trenitalia app, tobacconists, etc.

The price is €2.7 per way for adults, while children under 4 years old and luggage travel for free.

Transfer by taxi

A taxi ride between Ciampino Airport and Roma Termini costs approximately 30-40 euros. A maximum of 4 people can ride in one car. If you have a lot of luggage, take 2 taxis or a minivan. Depending on traffic, a taxi ride to the center of Rome can take between 30-60 minutes. A taxi transfer between Fiumicino Airport and Ciampino Airport costs 52 euros. For a ride between Ciampino and Civitavecchia Port, you will have to pay 120 euros.

Transfer by metro line A

From the airport, you will take a bus that will take you to the Anagnina metro station on line A. From there, you continue your journey by metro towards Roma Termini, etc. The bus runs every 30-40 minutes and costs €1.5 per trip + €1.2 per piece of luggage.

The ATAC company’s lines 520 and 720 provide transfers from the airport to the city. Generally, the schedule is from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM, with departures every 20 minutes.

Line 520 (platform 7) has 9 stops and also stops at two metro stations, Cinecittà and Subaugusta, on metro line A.

Line 720 has 22 stops and stops at Laurentina station on metro line B.

These buses do not have luggage storage compartments, so you will have to bring all your luggage on board.

The ticket price is €1.5 per trip, valid for 100 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the Tourist Information Office, from vending machines, and at Chef Express Restaurant. The ticket must be validated, otherwise, it is as if you are traveling without a ticket.
